Gotu Kola & Bacopa Clarity Complex
The honest version: the real doses, the evidence graded for what it’s worth, and who should skip this one.
Gotu Kola & Bacopa Clarity Complex · 30 capsules · 30-day supply
Six classic clarity herbs in one small daily capsule — an easy, affordable way to try them.
One capsule holds a 231 mg blend of gotu kola, astragalus, bacopa, cistanche, maritime pine bark (65% proanthocyanidins) and Panax ginseng — herbs with centuries of traditional use for focus and mental clarity.* It's a gentle, low-dose introduction to the category, and we'll be clear that it's low-dose.
Everything on the label
What's actually in it.
Six herbs from the Ayurvedic and Chinese traditions, in one 231 mg proprietary blend listed by weight: gotu kola first, then astragalus, bacopa, cistanche, maritime pine bark and Panax ginseng. One capsule a day.
- It's a proprietary blend
- You get the 231 mg total, not each herb's amount. Split six ways, each herb averages under 40 mg.
- Bacopa is the best-studied herb here — at a fraction of its dose
- Bacopa memory studies use around 300 mg a day of an extract standardised to bacosides, for 12 weeks. Here it's whole-herb powder, third in a 231 mg blend.
- The capsule is gelatin
- Unlike most of our capsules, this one isn't vegetarian or vegan.
Made in the USA in an FDA-registered facility.
** Daily Value not established.
Other Ingredients: Gelatin (capsule), Microcrystalline Cellulose, Magnesium Stearate, MCT Oil, Silicon Dioxide.
The evidence
What these herbs can do — graded honestly.
There's real research behind some of these herbs. The catch is dose: the studies used far more of one herb than this whole capsule contains of six.
Bacopa for memory
Bacopa is the standout: a meta-analysis of controlled trials found modest memory improvements after about 12 weeks of standardised extract. This capsule contains bacopa, but well below the studied amount.
Maritime pine bark
Pine bark extracts rich in proanthocyanidins have small trials for focus and healthy circulation, usually at 100–150 mg. It's standardised here, which helps — the amount just isn't disclosed.
The rest, at these amounts
Gotu kola, astragalus, cistanche and ginseng have long traditional use and some early research, but not at the tens of milligrams a shared 231 mg blend allows.
A good sampler is worth selling. Selling it as a studied dose wouldn't be — so we don't.
Our standard
How to take it
One capsule, with breakfast.
One capsule daily
Take with 6–8 oz of water, ideally with food — bacopa can upset an empty stomach.
Think in months
Herbal focus support builds slowly. Bacopa studies run about 12 weeks before measuring results.
Not a stimulant
There's no caffeine, so don't expect a jolt. This is a steady daily habit.
This is a gentle, affordable herbal sampler — six traditional clarity herbs in one capsule. If you want the studied bacopa dose specifically, you'd need a dedicated bacopa extract. If you want an easy daily introduction to the category, this is a fair way to start.
Before you buy
Who should check first.
If you take a blood thinner, diabetes medication or a sedative, talk to your doctor before taking this. Ginseng can interact with blood thinners and blood-sugar medication, and bacopa and gotu kola can add to the effect of sedatives.
Talk to your doctor before taking this if you:
- Are pregnant, trying to conceive or nursing — skip it without medical advice.
- Have liver disease — rare liver injury has been reported with gotu kola.
- Take thyroid medication — bacopa may affect thyroid hormone levels.
- Have surgery coming up — stop two weeks before, because of the ginseng.
- Avoid animal products — the capsule is gelatin.
Straight answers
Clarity Complex questions, answered.
What does it actually do?
It's a daily blend of six traditional herbs taken to support focus and mental clarity.* At 231 mg total, it's a gentle introduction rather than a studied dose of any one herb.
How much bacopa is in it?
The label doesn't say, because it's in a blend. Bacopa is third of six in a 231 mg capsule, so it's well below the roughly 300 mg of standardised extract used in memory studies.
How long before I notice anything?
Give it at least eight to twelve weeks. Herbal focus support builds gradually, and the bacopa research measured results at around 12 weeks.
Does it have caffeine?
No. There are no stimulants in it, so it won't feel like coffee.
Is it vegan?
No — the capsule is gelatin. Most of our other capsules are plant-based, so check those if that matters to you.
Can I take it with my medications?
Check first if you take a blood thinner, diabetes medication, thyroid medication or a sedative. Ginseng, bacopa and gotu kola can each interact.
Our standard
Why we stock it.
A six-herb clarity sampler at an easy price — with the blend, the bacopa dose and the gelatin capsule all stated up front.
Focus formulas tend to list famous herbs and let you assume each is dosed like the research. We'd rather sell this one honestly: a gentle, affordable way to try the category, with its limits on the page. That's the whole business.
